Eat, Sleep, Redesign, Repeat
We have been working on this game’s puzzles for months now. However, we left them untouched for a couple of weeks to be able to give it another approach with some fresh ideas. After finding several mistakes in the design, we started rethinking most of them. Sure, these changes will make the game more fun and the puzzles better designed. However, of course, it also gives us a lot more work to do.
During the X-mas period, while I was alone in the office and without any other distractions, I started to notice some mistakes in our game design. Well, let’s not call them mistakes because here at Scarecrow we don’t make mistakes, (of course). Let’s just call them “Things that leave us some room for improvement”.
Then, when our game designer came back to the office, we started re-designing things. Sure, nobody likes redoing work that has already been done and finished as final, but after one hardworking week… well, not a complete week, it was only 4 hard working days, since Monday was a non-working day here… We came up with some great ideas and improved the game by 10.000%, if not more! (Not exaggerating… well, maybe a little).
